After Draco finds Hermione in the Forbidden Forest...broken, he takes her to her head girl dorm. They keep the rape a secret because Hermione doesn't want to alert Ron or Harry (who are away from Hogwarts) and cause them to leave their search for Horcruxes. Draco has been shunned from Slytherin ever since he failed to kill Dumbledore. The only one who talks to him occasionally is Pansy. Blaise is the new Slytherin prince. Draco's father has been sending him secret letters. He wants Draco to spy on Hermione for him because they want her to have an emotional breakdown and later kidnap her. As Draco spends more time with Hermione to gain her confidence, spying on her becomes harder and harder to do.
